Currently, Ripple is one of the fastest growing projects within the cryptocurrency sector. However, when we talk about Ripple, we refer to the signature behind a cryptocurrency, other times we talk about its cryptocurrency itself (XRP), and in other opportunities we talk about payment solutions driven by this company, such as xRapid.
In order for the XRP cryptocurrency to be understood as a Ripple product different from all the others, a project has been created within the community called XRP Symbol, which has proposed the creation of a new logo for the cryptocurrency.
Before considering this change in logo, it was very easy to confuse XRP with Ripple, and many people think that both are interchangeable since XRP is the trading symbol of Ripple in the market.
Through its Twitter account, XRP Symbol shows in its profile image the new logo, where it appears a letter X with a curved upper line that forms the letter P and a lower line that forms the letter R.

For XRP to be perceived as a currency, it needs its own symbol. Like the dollar sign '$', XRP needs a universal sign denoting the XRP units. The current logo that is being used works very well when referring to Ripple, the company, and should not be changed, but a logo should be created to represent the real units of the digital asset.
In this sense, XRP Symbol cites the example of Bitcoin, which uses its symbol in an orange circle and has been the inspiration for suggestions to include it as a real unit of the cryptocurrency in the market quotations (฿). At the moment, the company Ripple has not pronounced officially with respect to this project, but everything indicates that with the influence of the community, this new symbol will arrive to make the cryptocurrency even more visible.
